15 Classic Fords of the Post-War Era

Ford produced some awesome cars following WWII. Here are some of our favorites from 1946 – 1959.

1947 Ford Super Deluxe Tudor Sedan

For 1947, Ford removed the red accents from the grill and the two small lights located just above it. They then restyled the body slightly first by moving the parking lights from above the grill to below each headlight. Exterior moldings were changed from grooved to a smooth design. A new hood ornament with a blue plastic insert was installed, along with a new hubcap design.

1948 Super Deluxe

While his stint at Ford was brief, Eugene “Bob” Gregorie was largely responsible for the practical but modern lines of the Ford. Some of Gregorie’s best known designs were the 1936 Lincoln Zephyr, the 1939 Lincoln Continental, and the 1949 Mercury, which was made famous by James Dean in the movie “Rebel Without a Cause”. Several 1948 models were influenced by him and are still highly regarded today.
